PARKING @ MARKAZ
You may park only in the legal (marked) parking spots along
the wall.
You may not park alongside the markaz or by the far back
wall.
When parking on the streets, please be courteous to our
neighbors,
and make sure that you are not blocking anyone's driveway.
Public Transportation
Subway:
Take the
F Line
to the Jamaica-179 Street/Hillside Avenue stop (which is the
last stop on the F Line in Queens). Then transfer to the
Q77 bus going East towards Springfield Blvd. Get off
at the 131st/Springfield Blvd. stop, which is right in front of
the Jamali Markaz. If you are unsure, ask the bus driver
to inform you when the bus has reached the 131st/Springfield
Blvd. stop.
LIRR:
Take the
LIRR
from either Penn Station in Manhattan or Flatbush Avenue in
Brooklyn to Laurelton Station. From Laurelton Station you
can either take a cab or walk 4-5 blocks and take the
Q77 bus going north. Get off at the 131st/Springfield
Blvd. stop, which is right in front of the Jamali Markaz.
If you are unsure, ask the bus driver to inform you when the bus
has reached the 131st/Springfield Blvd. stop.
Bus from Manhattan:
Express Bus X63* ($5):
Look at the X63 Map to find its various stops in Manhattan.
- It starts at 1st Ave and 23rd St.
- Or you can catch it along Madison Avenue between 23rd and 57th streets
(but you have to look for its bus stop and wait there
accordingly).
- Take the bus all the way to Merrick Blvd and Springfield Blvd
*The express bus only operates from Queens to Manhattan during
the morning rush hours and from Manhattan to Queens during the
evening rush hours. You will only be able to use it to the
Markaz for most events and will have to find a ride back to
Manhattan, or a subway station, on your way back.
If you need a ride back to Manhattan or to the Subway station, please ask around. There are several mumineen with cars who would be gladly willing to give you a ride back.
By Car
Manhattan:
Take the Queens Midtown Tunnel, which becomes LIE (I-495) East
to Van Wyck South to Belt Pkwy East to the exit for Springfield
Blvd. Turn left on Springfield Blvd. And continue for about 1.5
miles to 131st Street. Jamali Markaz is on the left hand side of
the street.
JFK Intl. Airport:
Exit the Airport via JFK Expressway to the Belt Parkway. Take
Belt Pkwy East to the exit for Springfield Blvd. Turn left on
Springfield Blvd. Continue for about 1.5 miles to 131st Street.
Jamali Markaz is on the left hand side of the street.
LaGuardia Airport:
Take Grand Central Parkway (East) to the exit for Francis Lewis
Blvd (South). Make a right on Francis Lewis Blvd (south) and
continue to Springfield Blvd. Make a right on Springfield Blvd.
and continue approximately 1-2 miles to 131st Street.
Jamali Markaz is on right hand side.
Cross Island Parkway:
Take Cross Island Parkway (south) to Belt Parkway (West).
Continue on Belt Parkway (west) to Merrick Blvd. exit. Take exit
for Merrick Blvd. and continue on service road to 1st traffic
light. Make a right turn at the traffic light onto Merrick Blvd
and continue to Springfield Blvd. Make a right turn onto
Springfield Blvd. and continue approximately 200 yards to 131st
Street. Jamali Markaz is on the left.
Van Wyck Expressway:
Take Van Wyck South to Belt Pkwy East to the exit for
Springfield Blvd. Turn left on Springfield Blvd. And continue
for about 1.5 miles to 131st Street. Jamali Markaz is on the
left.
Grand Central Parkway:
Take the exit for Francis Lewis Blvd (South). Make a right on
Francis Lewis Blvd (south) and continue to Springfield Blvd.
Make a right on Springfield Blvd. Continue approx 1-2
miles to 131st Street. Jamali Markaz is on the right.
Verrazano Narrows Bridge:
After crossing the bridge, follow signs for Belt Parkway East.
Then take exit for Springfield Blvd. At the first traffic
light take a left. Proceed for about 2 miles to 131st
Street. The Jamali Markaz will be on the left.
George Washington Bridge:
After crossing the bridge, follow signs for Rte 95 North.
From Rte I95 take the Throgs Neck Bridge. After crossing
the Throgs Neck Bridge, take Cross Island Parkway South to Belt
Parkway West. Alternatively, you can take the Whitestone
Bridge to Cross Island Parkway South. Continue on Belt
Parkway (west) to Merrick Blvd. exit. Take exit for Merrick
Blvd. and continue on service road to 1st traffic light. Make a
right turn at the traffic light onto Merrick Blvd and continue
to Springfield Blvd. Make a right turn onto Springfield Blvd.
and continue approximately 200 yards to 131st Street. Jamali
Markaz is on the left.
